I’m Xiao Liu, the creator of Rewindpix. After a decade grinding away at large tech companies, I hit my 40s and realized I was done feeling like a donkey, dragging or being dragged uphill every day. I wanted to build something tangible, something of my own. So, with a “better oops than never” mindset, I finally took the leap.

The inspiration for Rewindpix was deeply personal.

I bought my first Agfa Optima in 2008 to heal from my first heartbreak. It taught me how to observe the world when I felt most alone. It was there when I was young, learning to love and learning to let go. It taught me that while people and seasons change, the captured moment remains.

Years later, life hit reset. In a period of profound family transition and personal solitude, I found myself reaching for that feeling again. I needed to slow down, to disconnect from the noise, and to find peace in the viewfinder.

So, when it came time to decide the look of Rewindpix, the choice was simple. I didn't want a trendy design. I wanted to pay tribute to the one thing that stayed constant. I wanted to give my beloved Agfa a second life, just as it keeps rewinding me back to cherished memories.

Rewindpix is born from this journey. It is a tribute to the past but built for those of us who need a quiet companion in the present.

But beyond the sentiment, the core of Rewindpix was driven by a simple desire: to escape the "digital trap." Whether I was capturing family camping trips or everyday moments, I hated the tedious process of locating photos and spending hours tweaking sliders in editing apps just to get that perfect vintage vibe. It always pulled me out of the moment. This became especially true after having a son, who has eaten up 1TB of photo gallery storage over the past five years.

I wanted the ultimate solution: a camera that offered the tactile joy of analog with the convenience of digital, requiring zero post-editing and, most importantly, fast enough to capture a 5-year-old wildling clearly, even in low light.
